Beneficiaries.

While review of organizations will be ongoing, we've identified the first
four recipients of The Future Dictionary of America's proceeds: the Sierra Club, the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO), Floridians for All Minimum Wage Campaign,
and the League of Pissed Off Voters Operation FAO (Florida and Ohio). We
think that these four groups are doing some of the most strategic work in
this election year, and we're honored to support their work.

With more than 750,000 members, the Sierra Club is one of the most
experienced environmental organizations when it comes to grass-roots
mobilization. The Sierra Club has identified close to half a million
infrequent or swing "environment first" voters in 10 urban areas in
battleground states. A major environmental issue has been identified in
each of the key areas, and hundreds of trained organizers are talking to
these key "environment first" voters about the issue specific to their area.
The Sierra Club has also looked within its own membership base to identify
members who are infrequent voters residing in swing states. These members
will also be organized to get out the vote. More information at
www.sierraclub.org.

The Floridians for All Minimum Wage Campaign is one of the smartest and most
strategic ideas out there this year. Worried about low voter turnout?
Especially worried that infrequent low-income voters will work to defend
their infrequent status by staying home this year? Then stick something on
the ballot that really matters to them: an initiative to raise the state
minimum wage.

The Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO) is a statewide organization focused on advocating for affordable
housing and solutions to end homelessness through state and federal policy
change. COHHIO has convened the Ohio Voterization Project, a coalition of
groups dedicated to turning out newly registered and infrequent low-income
voters in eight major metropolitan areas in Ohio. The term "voterization"
was used because it connotes the process of creating a culture of voting in
low-income communities and in the agencies that serve those communities.

The folks over at the League of Pissed Off Voters have turned their fury
upon two of the most important states in this year's election: Florida and
Ohio. Operation FAO is utilizing the most effective voter-mobilization
strategy ever discovered: talking to people. They're populating the Sunshine State and the Buckeye State with hundreds of
highly trained voter organizers.
