Sorry, hold on again: we just found out that there are no exceptions to the rule in Monopoly where, if you get a “Go Directly to Jail” card, you go directly to jail. You can get out, if you have a “Get out of Jail Free” card or pay $50 or roll doubles three times, but you still have to go to jail first, no exceptions. Still, sometimes it’s good to be in Monopoly jail, like if your opponent has hotels on the blue or green properties and you’re better off not losing any money for a few turns. Free parking is where you tend to find the most lax attitudes about rule-making; some people put money on it, some don’t. For whatever childish reason, I still choose the racecar, every single time.
