Dear Mrs. Obama,

Thank you for helping the president—for helping him with his campaigning and by helping him do speeches. Thank you for helping people in need and supporting them and sticking up for them. I hope you are happy living in the White House. Thank you for helping kids get active with LeBron James. I hope your family will get elected for a second term. Can you ask the president to make animal shelters stop killing animals? And try to help kids get an early start in reading.

Dear First Lady,

My name is Hank. I am eight years old. I have created a holiday you may like. The holiday is National Read Day! People alllll over the country would read to themselves and others. I think you should try to have people celebrate it.

Sincerely,
Hank

P.S. It is on December 15.
P.P.S. That is my birthday.

Hello Michelle Obama,

Tell Barack I say hi. I would give you advice: don’t go to too many meetings. My advice to your family is to not think negative too much. My life in Los Angeles is good because it does not snow. The White House is good to live in because it is big.

Dear Michelle Obama,

I go to school at Grand View. I hate the cafeteria food. It is so disgusting. I have a pet. His name is Bird. He is a rabbit. I know it’s confusing.

Sincerely,
