If someone told me a few years ago that I’d be able to support myself doing something I love, it would have sounded like some pipe dream that even paid sex with strangers couldn’t fulfill. Boy, was I wrong! I always knew I had a creative spirit burning inside me, but what I didn’t know is that pairing that spirit with a willingness to engage in lucrative high-risk intercourse would put me on the path to a rewarding career.
Maybe you’re stuck in a dead end job like I was, yearning to use that ‘other side’ of your brain but wondering how many creative careers out there would actually pay the bills. I know one: Jewelry making/Prostitution. It was Confucius who said, “Find a job you love and you’ll never work another day in your life.” He’s so right! You may also work nights bringing complete strangers to orgasm, but he’s spot on about the days!
The turning point for me was the moment I decided to do some soul-searching to find my true passion. Mine turned out to be making jewelry, but yours might be singing or painting and that’s fine, too. Either of those could be equally financially rewarding. Just always remember to also be a prostitute.
I’d say on average I probably sell about one or two pieces of jewelry a year, mostly to friends or family members, and believe it or not that’s plenty for me to afford my beautiful two-bedroom apartment! One bedroom’s a dedicated space for my crafting and the other’s just for sleeping and bartering fornication for U.S. currency.
I never thought I’d be one of those people who wakes up in a seedy motel actually excited to go to work every morning. If you can even call it work! Those tranquil mornings when I’m curled up, weeping under the scalding shower are always when inspiration strikes. Ideas for new bracelets and earring designs come flooding into my head—all I want to do is towel off, take my antibiotics and start making things!
I feel such a sense of liberation when all those beautiful beads and precious metals are laid out before me. There are no rules or limitations or anyone begging to be erotically asphyxiated to distract me, just a blank canvas to create anything I want until about seven or eight when I start banging people again!
At the end of the day, it comes down to this; can you look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I’m proud of half of what I do?” If the answer is no, then it might be time to make a change. It’s simple, you can either fulfill your dreams or squander them and settle for a life of doing something you hate when you could just as easily do something you love plus something degrading and profitable! $300 a day is nothing to sneeze at for a humble little jewelry merchant like myself, an earning power that can be yours, too, once you take that first tiny step of snapping a picture of your genitals and posting it on Craigslist.
