BUT: do not mention they were using the word “synergy” incorrectly,
NOR: that you have no idea what they mean by “action items.”
ADMIT: to being the person that made a fresh pot of coffee.
BUT: do not tell them all you could find was decaf,
NOR: that you only went into the kitchen for a place to fart.
ADMIT: that you ate some of the gumballs on Carol’s desk.
BUT: do not tell them you touched all the gumballs when you spilled the dispenser,
NOR: that you currently have measles, but no more sick days.
ADMIT: that your attention drifted off during the conference call.
BUT: do not mention that you actually walked away from your desk,
NOR: that you went all the way into the kitchen to “make a pot of coffee.”
ADMIT: that you are feeling under the weather and are going home early.
BUT: do not ask Carol if she thinks the spots on your belly are measles,
NOR: show up for the morning meeting tomorrow with donuts for everyone.
