Welcome back, families! There have been some changes to the pick-up and drop-off procedures, so make sure you familiarize yourselves before the first day. Remember, when in doubt, simply CIRCLE THE BLOCK.

DROP-OFF

This year, we will be dropping off by grade. Please drop off only at your student’s grade level’s time. If you have multiple children, please simply CIRCLE THE BLOCK until their designated drop-off time. This ensures a smooth process for all.

  • Kindergarten: 8:00–8:05
  • First grade: 8:05–8:10
  • Second grade: 8:10–8:15
  • Third grade: 8:15–8:20
  • Fourth grade: 8:20–8:25
  • Fifth grade: 8:25–8:30

Remember: Drop-off is not a time to chat, say hello, kiss your child goodbye, hand them their lunch, take your hands off the steering wheel, or even use your brakes. If you need to do any of these things, simply CIRCLE THE BLOCK.

Please approach the White Zone at a low speed and allow your child to execute a tuck and roll on the way out. Volunteer parents are standing by to shut your door as they exit. If you cannot slow down in time, simply CIRCLE THE BLOCK.

WHITE ZONE

Drop-off is allowed only in the White Zone. Our new extended White Zone adds six more inches of car space, so we expect things to run even more smoothly this year. Your car may not slow down or stop outside of the white zone.

A sewer kraken is positioned in the drain at the end of the zone; it will wrap its tentacles around your vehicle and pitch it approximately twelve yards if it exceeds the White Zone. If you don’t have enough room, simply CIRCLE THE BLOCK.

PICK-UP

It is extremely important that you pick your child up promptly. Any children remaining past the designated time will be automatically enrolled in the After-School Program, and overage time is charged at one hundred dollars per minute.

In response to community feedback, we have extended the pick-up times:

  • Kindergarten: 3:00–3:04
  • First grade: 3:04–3:08
  • Second grade: 3:08–3:12
  • Third grade: 3:12–3:16
  • Fourth grade: 3:16–3:20
  • Fifth grade: 3:20–3:22

Remember: Just like drop-off, pick-up is not a time to chat, say hello, ask your student how their day was, help them with their bags, or open any car doors.

Please roll the back window down and approach the White Zone at exactly 2.6 mph. Staff are standing by to launch your student into the window, Dukes of Hazzard style, with a trebuchet handmade by the LARP Club.

If you cannot achieve this speed in the requisite time, simply CIRCLE THE BLOCK.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Our school depends on YOU for success. In order to keep things running efficiently, we need volunteers with the following skills:

  • Collision repair
  • Personal Injury law
  • Aerodynamic coefficients
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Mediation
  • Grant writing

Remember: There is a 150-hour volunteer commitment. The kraken is maintaining the spreadsheet.

Looking forward to seeing you on the first day of school!
